It is located in the northwest of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. It comprises of the municipalities of Arriaga, Tonala, Cintalapa, Jiquipilas, Villacorzo and Villaflores.
Represents a transition between the isthmus area dry and wet Soconusco.

It is located east of Chiapas, in the municipality of Ocosingo. His name means Peña Grande or Rock (of Lacam: large and tun: stone), the Lacandon designated the main island of Lake Miramar, which had built the small head of its vast rain forest territory.
Access to the reserve can be given through dirt roads, by air or by boat on the Usumacinta River. . |
